Commitment:

Our SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) choir normally practices on Wednesday nights, with extra evening practices as needed, plus 2 to 4 full practice days on Saturdays in a typical season. Rehearsals take place at Glenbrook Middle School in New Westminster. Members must be able to commit to all rehearsals.

We give 3 or 4 performances a year in various locations around the Lower Mainland. About every 2 years the choir undertakes short weekend tours to other parts of BC.

Skills needed:

New members must have basic music skills, including the ability to read music, match pitch, blend into their section, and sing in various languages. Prior choral singing experience is required.

About

We are a mixed choir of 50 to 60 members, performing in locations around the Lower Mainland and occasionally throughout B.C. We sing a variety of repertoire, everything from the Brahms Requiem to folksongs. As a self-supporting community choir our aim is to foster and promote the love of choral music, singing, and performance, primarily in the Burnaby/New Westminster area. We also like to have fun!
