Founded in 1980 in New Westminster, Amabilis Singers is an auditioned SATB community choir based in Burnaby, British Columbia.
For over four decades, the choir has presented diverse choral repertoire ranging from classical masterworks to contemporary Canadian compositions. As an incorporated society and registered Canadian charity under the BC Societies Act, Amabilis Singers is committed to artistic excellence, accessibility, and meaningful community engagement.
For more than 20 years, rehearsals and performances have taken place in Burnaby, where the choir continues to serve a growing and diverse audience from across Burnaby, New Westminster, and the surrounding Lower Mainland.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Man Li, Amabilis Singers continues to build a forward-looking artistic program while celebrating 45 years of choral music in our community.
As the choir looks toward its 50th anniversary season in 2030, Amabilis Singers is also launching a long-term Canadian Choral Commission Initiative that will bring four to five new Canadian works to life over the coming years through world premieres, special performances, and collaborations with Canadian composers. Building on the choir’s longstanding artistic traditions while embracing new musical voices, the initiative reflects an exciting new chapter in the choir’s continuing artistic journey.
Guided by a mission centred on artistic excellence, accessibility, and community engagement, Amabilis Singers continues to serve audiences across Burnaby and New Westminster.
