Carrie studied music at the University of Mary in Bismark, North Dakota and at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC, obtaining a Bachelor of Music and a Professional Teaching Certificate. She has also studied at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.

Carrie has been teaching in the public school system for 34 years, where she enjoys teaching both band and choir.  Carrie coordinates the B.C. Provincial Honour Choir for high school students, and she co-directs the Vivo Children’s Choir. On behalf of Chor Leoni, she directs the Burnaby chapter of MYVoice; a program designed to empower young men to sing.

Carrie was grateful for the welcoming reception extended by the members of the Amabilis Choir as she directed the 2021–22 season in Ramona’s absence. In 2022, Carrie was honoured by the BC Music Educators’ Association with the award for Outstanding Music Educator – Secondary.
